General Admissions Requirements:
1- Post-Graduation requirement
A. Applicants for the Post-Graduate Degree must hold a Bachelor’s or Master Degree from a regionally accredited college or university (or the international equivalent)
B. When choosing a doctoral program in curriculum and instruction, prospective students should make sure that they can fulfill the admissions requirements and that the program’s curriculum meets their educational and career goals.
C. Students may also look for a program that combines both in-class and hands-on learning experiences. When applying, students should see if an internship is required or even available.
D. Students may look for teaching assistantships, which will allow students to assist professors and often teach some classes at the academy level before graduation and completing a dissertation.
E. Students need to have earned a minimum undergraduate GPA. Application materials often include:
1. Academic transcripts
2. GRE test scores
3. Letters of recommendation
4. Statement of purpose
5. Writing sample
6. Curriculum vitae
F. A MASTER’S DEGREE program usually takes about 2-4 years to complete, based on the area of study. Applicants to master’s degree programs typically must have completed a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject with an exemplary GPA.
2- Graduate Record Examinations – GRE:
Many graduate schools will ask to see GRE scores during the application process. These scores gauge the student understanding of different subjects and fields of study. Though there are different forms of the test which can be taken, most tests measure general skills that have been acquired over a period of time rather than skills in specific areas.
3- In General
All students must have to meet the same admissions requirements and make the same educational choices as on-campus students; also need basic computer skills and computer hardware and software that are compatible with HAER content management program system.
