The course syllabus and/or course outline along with the bulletin description upon which it is based constitutes the basis for instructional accountability, course evaluation, and quality assurance; within 4 weeks after the official beginning of term .
Instructors or advisors are required to provide students with course syllabi which conform to HAER’s standards and regulations.
The document will include as a minimum, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:
1) Course description
2) Student learning opinions (Report)
3) Course procedures and/or requirements
4) Expected Performance standards of student
5) Grading system and criteria to be used in calculating the final grade for the course
6) Instructor’s office hours and location
7) Textbooks or research and/or required readings.
A copy of each course syllabus and outline for each program being taught is required to be on file in the office of the President Assistance office and copy to HAER Board not later than one week after the beginning of term.
Course syllabi and outlines should be updated regularly to be current with changes in subject matter areas and international standards strategies
